A woman was arrested after her 11-month old baby drowned in a bathtub in Brooklyn, cops said. Angelica Huertas, 24 , left her infant son Elijah Pardella and his 3-year-old sister unattended as they took a bath inside their East New York apartment on Pennsylvania Avenue on Sunday afternoon, cops said.
She allegedly left the drain unplugged but Elijah sat on the drain and blocked it, according to law enforcement sources.
When she returned, the tub had filled with water and Elijah was not breathing, the sources said. His sister was fine. Responding EMS rushed the baby to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Huertas was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
