An 11-month-old Brooklyn boy drowned in a bathtub yesterday after his mother left him alone, law-enforcement sources said.
Elijah Pardella and his 3-year-old sister were being given a bath inside their East New York apartment, the sources said.
When the mom, Angelica Huertas, 24, left the bathroom, she left the drain unplugged. But Elijah sat on the drain and blocked it, according to the sources.
When she returned, the tub had filled with water and Elijah was not breathing, the sources said. His sister was fine.
Investigators questioned Huertas and are conferring with the DA’s office on possible charges.
