Weird But True

Weird but true

What are the odds?

Bill Isles, 48, was struck by lightning hours after he bought three Mega Millions tickets in Wichita, Kan.

Isles, who’ll be fine, said he told a pal after buying the tickets, “I’ve got a better chance of getting struck by lightning” than winning.

And he was right. The odds of winning last week’s grand prize were 1 in 176 million, while the chances of getting hit by lightning are 1 in 700,000.

He’s off the wall!

A man was busted for allegedly stealing $43 off the walls of a Destin, Fla., pub that’s decorated with $1 bills.

The suspect told cops he was taking the greenbacks as “souvenirs for friends back home” in Michigan.

Highway officials in central Pennsylvania didn’t cry over spilled milk — they poured lime on it.

An overturned truck flooded a stretch of Route 94 in Huntington Township with 3,000 gallons of milk, which could have curdled, caused a huge stink and attracted flies.

But by pouring lime on the mess, cleanup crews bought themselves valuable time, because lime chews up the milk’s fat and neutralizes the odor.

A man was in handcuffs at a Connecticut sex shop — and not in a fun way.

The customer at VIP in Orange was trying on various cuffs, but one pair wouldn’t come off. Workers, then cops, tried different keys, but none worked.

Finally, bolt cutters did the trick.

One heck of a dogfight broke out between a Minnesota woman and her beau.

Gabrielle Tywon Allen, 20, allegedly hurled three week-old pit-bull puppies at David Peter Remme, 25, during their fight in a Fridley parking lot.

The pups landed on the concrete, but were OK.

Allen was booked for animal cruelty, while Remme was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, cops said.
