Two bigs out at PA

Two top officials at the Port Authority got the ax from Gov. Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, The Post has learned.

The firings come as the two governors are consolidating their control over the agency’s massive bureaucracy.

Chief Operating Officer Ernesto Butcher, who oversaw security operations and earned more than $301,000 last year, is leaving at the end of the week.

And Chief Administrative Officer Louis LaCapra, who ran personnel operations and was the highest paid PA worker, at $325,000, will be following Butcher in the coming months.

Each had worked at the PA for more than 40 years.

Butcher signed off on World Trade Center cost overruns and the agency’s whopping toll hikes last year, sources said. And LaCapra approved unprecedented giveaways to PA unions in recent contract deals.
