Crash kills Bx. bicyclist

A bicyclist was struck and killed by a car in The Bronx yesterday, police said.

David Oliveras, 18, rode suddenly from the sidewalk onto Williamsbridge Road near Mace Avenue when he was struck by a white SUV at 7:05 p.m., cops and witnesses said.

Oliveras was rushed to Jacobi Hospital, where he died.

“I feel terrible. I didn’t see him,” said the driver, who did not give his name to a reporter. “I didn’t want to hit him. He came out of nowhere.”

The driver is not expected to be charged.

“The kid got creamed. He went flying out his sneakers,” said Spartan Lopez, 22.

One of Oliveras’ Converse sneakers was still at the scene hours after the accident.

“I saw him take his last breath,” said a witness named John, who did not give his last name. “He shuddered and exhaled blood, and that was it. He didn’t take another breath.”
