At 9 p.m. on Showtime, Anthony will have a guest role in the second episode of the fourth season of “Nurse Jackie.”

The show revolves around actress Edie Falco, who formerly played Carmela Soprano on “The Sopranos.” In this show, Falco plays Jackie Peyton, a nurse at a New York City Hospital. In Sunday’s episode titled “Disneyland [Stinks],” Anthony has a small role appearing early in the episode at a rehab clinic.

He plays Wayne, a baseball player who also is a drug addict. Anthony explains he intentionally got hit with a fastball, shattering his wrist, because he knew this would require several months of painkillers. The episode was filmed during the NBA lockout.

Anthony has acted before, appearing on “Law and Order: SVU’’ as well as “Sesame Street’’ and “Saturday Night Live’’ in 2011. He also appeared in “La La’s Full Court Life”, which followed him and his wife, La La Vazquez, after they moved from Denver to New York when Anthony was traded.
