Man suspected in Manhattan groping attacks in police custody

A suspect wanted for groping four women in Manhattan was taken into custody today, police said.

Police have been searching for a well-dressed sicko who groped women in downtown Manhattan, the Upper East Side, and Greenwich Village.

In his most recent attack, the perv approached a 22-year-old woman on Chambers Street, near Centre Street, about 7:20 p.m. March 20, and put his hand between her legs as she was exiting the subway station, cops said.

He is first believed to have struck on East 62nd Street and Park Avenue, when he approached a 33-year-old woman from behind, grabbed her inner thigh, and took off about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 25, police said.

Cops will be doing line-ups today with the victims to see if they can positively identify the alleged groper. Police say the suspect is well-dressed — in surveillance images, he sports gray slacks and a black jacket. He is believed to be in his thirties, five foot eleven and about 180 pounds, authorities said.
