Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are officially engaged

Con-Bradulations!

Hollywood megawatt couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are finally tying the knot, although no date is set.

The pair have been together since 2005 and have six kids: Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Knox and Viv, 3.

“Yes, it’s confirmed,” Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, told People magazine yesterday. “It is a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy.”

The pair once said they wouldn’t get hitched unless the United States changed its laws to allow all couples to marry. Asked about this position, a rep for the couple did not have an immediate comment.

Beverly Hills jewelry designer Robert Procop designed the sparkling diamond engagement ring after a yearlong collaboration with Pitt, Pett-Dante said.

She did not say exactly when or how Pitt, 48, proposed to Jolie, 36.

Pitt “wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suite Angelina’s hand,” Pett-Dante said.

“Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger.”

Jolie was photographed this week wearing the ring at a Los Angeles museum.

Rumors that the couple — dubbed Brangelina by celebrity reporters — had planned to marry have been circulating for years. The chatter intensified earlier this year when Pitt said they were getting pressure from their children.

“It [marriage] seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out,” Pitt told The Hollywood Reporter in January.

This will be Jolie’s third marriage. She was previously wed to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston.

Pitt and Jolie grew close on the set of the movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” while he was still married to Aniston, although both he and his new fiancée have denied that they ever had an affair.

Jolie is the daughter of actor Jon Voight and late actress Marcheline Bertrand. She won an Oscar for her role as a mental patient in the 1999 film “Girl, Interrupted.”

Pitt, originally from Springfield, Mo., has been nominated for three acting Oscars and won a Golden Globe for his role in the 1995 science-fiction film “Twelve Monkeys.”
