Yankees to wear different uniforms against Red Sox

Thanks to the Yankees agreeing to cooperate with the Red Sox and their celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Fenway Park on Friday, the team will wear a different road uniform.

Instead of “NEW YORK” across the front of the shirt, a large “NY” will appear.

The jerseys are modeled after the ones worn by the 1912 New York Highlanders, which officially became the Yankees the following year.

The Yankees will wear a gray hat with a navy blue NY on the front, and a navy blue bill.

The Red Sox uniforms have not been revealed.
