A thick flow of wet concrete flooded a cafe inside the posh Le Parker Meridien hotel this morning following a construction accident, authorities and witnesses said.
Construction workers were pouring concrete near the hotel in West 56th Street near Central Park at about 11:30 a.m. when it began to spill onto the hotel floor.
The mixture oozed into the Knave Cafe & Bar, one of the hotel’s two eateries, as stunned tourists looked on.
Witnesses said the mixture was about a foot deep and that it moved chairs and tables.
No one was injured.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Department of Buildings.
The four-star, 731-room hotel also features an indoor pool and a second restaurant called Norma’s.
