Cops are investigating the death of man found bleeding from the mouth as he staggered out of a Midtown club early Saturday.

Michael Lin at first seemed drunk to waitresses who were taking a cigarette break at around 3 a.m. outside District 36, a nightclub on West 36th Street near Fifth Avenue, police sources said.

Guards soon arrived and noticed the 27-year-old welder was bleeding profusely from his mouth and that several of his teeth had been knocked out, the sources said.

He also had severe trauma to his torso and his jaw.

Lin, who friends said went out to get over his recent breakup with a longtime girlfriend, collapsed near a side entrance.

He was pronounced dead at Bellevue hospital at 4:30 a.m.

Investigators believe Lin may have fallen down stairs, law enforcement sources said.

His roommate, William Wong, said Lin had invited him but he declined.

“I was supposed to go with him but my mom just passed away from cancer, so I wasn’t in the mood to go out,” Wong, 29, said.

“He was just getting over his breakup with his girlfriend. He went out with her for two years.”
