‘Beer’ honey

Ramey new host for SNY quiz show

Quenchsports thirst with new SNY “Beer Money” host Mayleen Ramey.

The Rumble has learned that the former MTVU deejay will be waiting to bewitch, befuddle and bewilder any and all willing contestants brave enough to show off their sports knowledge beginning Wednesday at Buffalo Wild Wings in Brooklyn.

“The most confident guys are the ones that choke,” Ramey said, and smiled. “The ones that are like, ‘I know this. This is my team …’ As soon as the lights come on, they blank. They’re not used to that pressure.”

No Beer Money to drown their sorrows. Only Ramey and her SNY audience.

“Sometimes I will be like a supportive friend — pat ’em on the back, ‘All right buddy,’ ” she said. “Sometimes I will just like rub it in, like, ‘Oh come on, how could you not know that? But the good news is, this is airing on TV in front of all your friends (chuckle) in the entire city of New York!’”

Ramey also hosts a travel show called “Destination Tennis” on the Tennis Channel. It comes natural because her mother is a tennis teaching show, and Ramey played competitively from the age of 10.

“We essentially create the perfect tennis vacation,” she said.

She never pondered a television career until after she had graduated University of California-Santa Barbara with a business economics degree. She wasn’t sold on a career as an accountant.

“I was watching this show called “Wild on E,” hosted by Brooke Burke, and I was like, ‘I could do that. I could do what she’s doing,’” Ramey said.

She auditioned and was hired on the spot for an Extreme Sports show on ESPN in Japan.
