Softball roundup: Scholars stuns previously undefeated Adams

Scholars Academy handed John Adams its first league loss.

Jessica Glaz, Kayla Nolan, Taylor Gallagher and Victoria Mancini each had two RBIs apiece to lead Scholars to a 15-4 romp over Adams in PSAL Queens B-II softball Thursday at Fort Tilden Field. Kayla Nolan gave up no earned runs on five hits and nine walks with nine strikeouts in five innings for Scholars (7-2 Queens B-II). Adams is 10-1.

Beach Channel 41, Campus Magnet 2: Cindy Rodriguez, Gabriela Martinez and Kayleigh Hurley all had five RBIs apiece for Beach Channel (7-3 Queens B-II). Campus Magnet is 0-11.

Graphic Communication Arts 17, Bayard Rustin 9: Christina Ostolaza went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Amber Lantigua was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Graphics (4-5 Manhattan B-III). Bayard Rustin is 4-3.

PSAL CLASS A

Construction 16, Lane 1: Kailan Luciano went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and two runs scored and Katherine Valle went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and a run scored for Construction (9-1 Queens A-II). Britney Rodriguez gave up one run on one hit with 11 strikeouts in four innings. Lane is 6-4.

CHSAA STATEN ISLAND

Moore Catholic 10, St. Joseph Hill 4: Kelly Graham tossed a two-hitter for Moore (6-1). Alexa Aliberti was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored and Maxine Jasko had two hits, a double and drove in five. Taylor Krupa, Nicole Guzzone and Corina Strype each had two hits. St. Joseph Hill is 1-6.
