Thie weeks couple: Neighborly love

We sent Matt, a 28-year-old entrepreneur, and Abigail, a 23-year-old legal analyst, to the Chelsea eatery Blue Dog Kitchen Bar. They got along great — and it’s a good thing they did: The pair discovered that Matt is set to move his business into the same building that Abigail works in! So, will these two be more than just work neighbors in the future?

He said:

The date started off great: The restaurant didn’t have our reservation and the restroom was out of order.

When Abigail showed up, though, we managed to get a seat and order drinks. Immediately, we joked about the bathroom situation, which broke the ice.

Abigail is from the UK, so we had totally different experiences growing up. I love to travel and learn about new cultures, so it was nice to talk to her about her life. She also has a cool accent.

We discovered that my company is signing a lease to move into her office building, which is funny.

Abigail seems very smart, and I think we had good chemistry. At the end of the night we exchanged numbers, and I assume we’ll get together again soon.

She said:

My first impression of Matt was that he was attractive, smiley and extremely confident. The conversation flowed easily. He told me about his business venture, which I found interesting. I also admired his determination.

I was shocked to learn that Matt just signed a lease to move his office into the building where I work. It’s a good thing the date went well, otherwise there would have been some awkward elevator encounters!

I’m a believer in fate, so this makes me think perhaps we would’ve met independently of this adventure, which is a cool thought.

Matt is definitely my type, and we had a lot of fun together. After exchanging numbers, we parted ways with a hug.
