Boys lacrosse roundup: New Dorp rallies past Midwood in OT

New Dorp was handed a chance to earn first place.

Kyle Hand scored the winner two minutes into the second overtime to give the Central Cougars a thrilling 6-5 win over visiting Midwood in PSAL Championship division boys lacrosse Wednesday. New Dorp kept pace with rival Tottenville how it meets Friday.

Shannon Richardson tied the score at 5 on his third goal of the game with less than 2:00 to play in regulation for New Dorp (9-1). Shawn Brackett added a score and goalie Chris Fiore made 12 saves. Midwood (6-4) led 4-3 after three quarters.

Tottenville 11, Cardozo 5: Kenny Coughlin scored three goals and dished out three assists for Tottenville (9-1). Justin Cayton added three scores and Nick Lamorgese and Nick DeMeo had two goals each. Cardozo is 7-2.

IVY LEAGUE

Fieldston 10, Poly Prep: 8: Ben Pruzan had four goals and Tanner Morris tallied three goals and one assist for Fieldston (7-1). Jake Schneider scored three goals and an assist. Grady Smith added four helpers and Sam Healy chipped in three. Dan Locker made 11 saves. Poly is 4-6.
