Former Yankee Chad Curtis investigated for ‘inappropriate touching’ at Michigan high school

LAKE ODESSA, Mich. — Former New York Yankee Chad Curtis is being investigated for possible “inappropriate touching” involving four students at Lakewood High School in Michigan, where he worked as a volunteer in the weight room.

The 43-year-old Curtis, who was scheduled to become the school’s head football coach this fall, has been suspended while the investigation continues, mlive.com reported.

He has not had any charges filed against him and denies the allegations.

“Chad Curtis enjoys an excellent reputation in this community. He has no prior criminal history and denies any criminal wrongdoing,” Curtis’ attorney David Dodge Sr. told WSBT-TV Saturday.

Curtis spent parts of 10 seasons in the majors with the Angels, Tigers, Dodgers, Indians, Rangers and most notably with the Yankees, where he won two World Series rings.

He played in left field in all four games of the 1999 World Series against the Atlanta Braves and hit a walk-off home run in Game 3.
