Tonight You’re Mine

Like the Scottish music festival where this meandering romance was shot, getting the plot from point A to point B seems beside the point. It’s about the chance encounters, the community, the filthy Porta-Potties.

Electro-pop star Adam (Luke Treadaway) meets the-opposite-of-cute with scrappy rocker Morello (Natalia Tena). For a silly reason, they end up handcuffed for a day, to the chagrin of their bands and significant others. As the bickering, flirting duo weaves through the T in the Park festival, director David Mackenzie captures the messy magic of its carnival atmosphere.

Treadaway and Tena can sing; their performances snap with energy. Still, you may wonder: Not one pair of bolt cutters, among thousands of roadies? Or: Why should I care?

No pressing reason, I guess — but it’s a nice, mud-free way to spend a bit of time rocking out in the rain with the Scots.
