Brooklyn brothers beaten in MetLife Stadium parking lot

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Two brothers from Brooklyn have been injured, one critically, after a group of men beat them in the parking lot at MetLife Stadium.

Police say the brothers were walking through the lot after a soccer match when they saw some men near a “low rider” vehicle. The brothers tapped on the vehicle, urging the driver to use the car’s hydraulic system to make it bounce and five or six men began chasing them.

Thirty-seven-year-old Alfredo Lopez was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck in the head with a bottle, punched and kicked. His brother, 35-year-old Raymundo Lopez, was treated for less serious injuries.

The Star-Ledger reports that police say the attack was not connected to the soccer match. Officials could not provide descriptions of the brothers’ attackers.
