A reckless driver trying to escape police in East New York yesterday hit an elderly woman trying to exit a car on her block, trapping her between two vehicles, cops said.

Police said they were trying to pull over a 1997 blue Nissan Maxima shortly before 4 p.m. when the driver came barreling down Wortman Avenue near Pennsylvania Avenue and sideswiped seven vehicles.

The 69-year-old woman was struck and suffered a broken leg.

The driver of the Maxima, a 32-year-old man, was taken into custody but has yet to be charged.

Two other people riding in the car fled on foot.

A Bed-Stuy woman is lucky to be alive after a neighbor shot at her during a fight over a parking spot, authorities said.

Paul Mitchell, 43, and the 32-year-old woman had exchanged words over the space on Hancock Street near Reid Avenue at about 11:24 p.m. Tuesday, cops said.

Mitchell allegedly retreated into his apartment, grabbed a .38-caliber revolver and fired two shots at the woman before running back inside.

Police searched Mitchell’s apartment and found the gun, as well as two spent shells inside the chamber, cops said.

They also found 22 more bullets, cops added.

A man was gunned down in Bed-Stuy over the weekend, police said.

The bullet-riddled body of Guy Simpson was discovered just before 9 p.m. Saturday on Decatur Street near Patchen Avenue, police said.

Simpson was pronounced dead at Interfaith Hospital.

A thug choked a woman during a robbery in Weeksville, authorities said.

Warren Jemmott, 19, allegedly walked up behind his 30-year-old victim on Caton Avenue near Bedford Avenue at around 2:18 a.m. Wednesday and wrapped his hands around her neck.

He then ordered the woman to drop her belongings to the ground, cops said. She complied, and he scooped up her purse and cellphone, police said.

Then, before fleeing, he slammed a hard object — believed to be a gun — into the woman’s ribs and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the ordeal, court papers state. He was arrested two hours later.

A parolee who was about to be arrested for a curfew violation attacked three parole officers, authorities said.

Curtis Wright, 25, elbowed one officer in the chest and shoved two others during his brazen getaway attempt at 6:15 p.m. Thursday inside the state Parole Division Offices on Bay Street in Tompkinsville, court papers state.

An elderly man was found dead in his Parkchester apartment with burn wounds, and cops quizzed his much-younger live-in boyfriend before releasing him, police said yesterday.

Officers responding to a call about a domestic dispute on Noble Avenue near Mansion Street discovered Victor Ortiz, 76, with burns to his face at around 11:15 p.m. Saturday.

Police took his 43-year-old boyfriend into custody, but released him last night.

The cause of death is under investigation.

A victim ran away from a would-be mugger in Morrisania and into the path of a cop on patrol — who then promptly arrested the suspect, authorities said.

“Where’s the money?” Elquinn Warner, 25, allegedly snarled at his victim when he approached him at about 2:15 a.m. May 19 on Tinton and East 163rd streets.

The victim smacked away Warner’s hand when he tried to reach into his pants pocket, court papers state.

Warner then allegedly tried to punch the victim in the face, but the man blocked the shot with his right arm and sprinted off.

He quickly found the cop, who arrested Warner.

A man’s body was found floating in the Hudson River near Hamilton Heights yesterday.

It was discovered near West 135th Street and 12th Avenue at 5:28 p.m. There were no signs of trauma.
