Edwards put move on gal, 25

GREENSBORO, NC — Horndog hubby John Edwards shamelessly hit on comely co-eds just months after his wife, Elizabeth, died of cancer.

Edwards, 58, who is on trial on charges of campaign-finance violations, flexed his trial-lawyer charm on pretty Andrea Love, 25, at the dive Bowbarr just outside of Chapel Hill, NC, last spring.

“He was all over her,’’ said a source at the bar.

Edwards’ long-suffering wife had just died in December 2010 — and he was reportedly still involved with his mistress, Rielle Hunter, with whom he had fathered a love child.

“I met him by the bar,” Love told The Post of her encounter with the sleazy, former presidential candidate. “I was kind of amused by the situation. He seemed like a charming guy.”

Love said Edwards tried to schmooze her by telling her he was looking forward to practicing law again — and wanted to represent the poor.

“There were plenty of college kids, men and women asking him questions,” Love said.

Love said that she finally gave him her number at the end of the night — but that Edwards never called her.

“I haven’t talked to him since,” she said.

Love’s mother, Elaine, was not amused.

“She’s many decades his junior. It was inappropriate,’’ the mom said of her daughter’s brush with Edwards, who sources noted is notorious for his penchant for 20-somethings around Chapel Hill.

“We thought it was a joke, we were all amazed,’’ Elaine Love said.
