“Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon tied the knot with her longtime lesbian partner in New York over the weekend.
The actress, 46, wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera to her Sunday nuptials to 45-year-old education activist Christine Marinoni, Nixon’s rep told People magazine.
Nixon and Marinoni got engaged three years ago at a rally to support same-sex unions, and had vowed to wait to wed until gay marriage was legalized in New York.
The state legalized gay marriage on June 24, 2011.
Marinoni gave birth to their son, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, in February last year.
