Police taught a high-school English teacher a hard lesson yesterday, charging her with rape for allegedly having sex repeatedly with an underage football player she plied with marijuana on school grounds.
Erin Sayar, 36, who allegedly hooked up with student Kevin Eng, 16, at least eight times inside Brooklyn’s James Madison HS and in her SUV, turned herself in to the NYPD Special Victims Squad at around 2 p.m.
The married Park Slope mom was slapped with eight counts of third-degree rape and criminal sexual conduct and was awaiting arraignment last night.
While the charges could land Sayar more than four years in prison, the victim wasn’t exactly traumatized by the ordeal.
He boasted about the trysts on Facebook and, when he was tossed in detention for making a mockery of the situation, he crowed about his conquests to his fellow detainees, classmate Brandin Torres, 16, told The Post.
A predatory Sayar arranged to tutor the jock during the same period when many of his football teammates were using the weight room next to her office, an investigative report from school authorities said.
Classmates said yesterday they quickly grew suspicious of the special setup.
“We had weight training every day in sixth period, but instead of going to the weight room, Kevin was going to her office — and the door was locked,” said football teammate Eddie Reid, 16.
“People would go to the door and try and open it. She’d just yell ‘Go to class!’ and ‘Get out of the hallway!’ ” Reid said.
Sayar’s relationship with Eng ended in January, according to Eng’s lawyer, Bruce Baron. She was reassigned that month by the Department of Education. Eng remains at the school.
Baron claimed the illicit relationship with Sayar left his client the “subject of scorn and ridicule,” but classmates said Eng was proud of his alleged trysts.
“At first he was defending her, and then he just seemed to brag about it,” said senior Joe Baina, 17, who added that he saw the Facebook posts.
After her arrest, Sayar was led into Central Booking wearing a pink hoodie and black yoga pants. Outside her Brooklyn apartment building, Sayar’s cuckolded husband, attorney Jimmy Lathrop, declined to comment as he walked their young daughter home.
His wife’s alleged affair was publicly revealed Wednesday, after Baron filed a $10 million notice of claim. Authorities began investigating Sayar after Eng’s then-girlfriend grew suspicious, hacked Eng’s Facebook account and found private messages between the two.
