Basketball bloodshed: 4 shot at Harlem hoops game

Four men were shot — one critically — today while playing basketball in the courtyard of a Harlem housing project, cops said.

The group of men were playing basketball outside of the Saint Nicholas Houses shortly before 5 p.m. when neighbors said they heard the shots ring out.

“I was watching the whole game… when I left the window that’s when I heard the shots. I came back to the window I saw three people lying on the ground,” said Priscilla Carson, 44, who lives across the street.

Other witnesses said they saw friends of the victims rush to their aid immediately after the shots.

The most seriously wounded, a 23-year-old, was shot in the head and rushed by cops to Harlem Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police sources said.

“They picked him up and he started walking and all you saw was blood, blood, blood coming from his head,” said Carson.

Two 19-year-old men each suffered bullet wounds to a leg and a 20-year-old was grazed by a bullet in the head.

They were all taken to Harlem Hospital and their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Cops said there are no suspects as of yet and the investigation is ongoing.
