You can’t have it both ways, but Justin Tuck is trying to when it comes to the Osi Umenyiora situation.
Tuck continues to support his good friend and Giants teammate regarding Umenyiora’s desire for a new contract. Tuck also continues to toe the company line in terms of not ripping the Giants for holding the line on a new deal for a player still under contract. There is no doubt, though, that Tuck wants to see Umenyiora resigned and back with the Super Bowl champions.
“It’s hard,’’ Tuck said yesterday on ROME, Jim Rome’s new show on CBS Sports Network. “He signed a contract and I believe in abiding by that contract, but also I think he’s outplayed that contract in today’s market. I think he deserves to get paid.
“Obviously I’m rooting for him to end his career as a Giant.But you also understand the business aspect of things and at the end of the day I just hope everything works out for him and his family and the Giants.’’
