Ex-Red Sox manager Terry Francona trades racy e-mails with female fan

ESPN analyst and former Red Sox manager Terry Francona is getting the brushback after e-mailing this racy picture (pictured) to a buxom baseball fan after she sent him a snapshot of her pitcher’s mounds.

The woman’s angry boyfriend was upset about the double play, sharing the pictures with the sports Web site Deadspin.com.

Francona, who guided Boston to two curse-breaking titles before missing the playoffs last year in one of the worst collapses in baseball history, is pictured on the balcony of what looks like a waterfront resort wearing nothing apparently but a towel and a smile.

The angry boyfriend knew his gal, who lives in Tucson, Ariz., had recently met Francona, a former University of Arizona ballplayer.

“Sending this picture to my 27-year-old girlfriend isn’t a smart move,” the boyfriend said in a message to the Web site. “Not sure how this picture would turn any girl on, but good luck to him and his 53-year body.”

The angry boyfriend also included an open letter warning Francona, who is separated from his wife.

“Hey, Terry,” the lovelorn letter-writer whined. “I was wondering why you would be flirting with my girlfriend, who is over 20 years younger than you, by sending pictures of yourself half-naked in a towel? Isn’t one of your own children the same age as my girlfriend?

“Next time you decide to do this, make sure the girl doesn’t have a boyfriend. You would think that you would be more careful since you work for ESPN. I hope more girls come out saying you sent them the same stuff. You could be the next Tiger Woods. Scumbag.”

The boyfriend, identified as a guy named Rob, was obviously feeling good about his game until he found something else on her phone — a close-up of her cleavage to Francona in her sent-messages box.

It turns out she had thrown out the first pitch. “I’m so pissed,” Rob said.
