Gunman ‘sniped’ victims on Harlem basketball court

The thug who opened fire on a pickup basketball game in Harlem — killing a new father and wounding three others — allegedly picked off his victims sniper-style, sources said today.

It is believed that the gunman was shooting from a window in a nearby apartment, where police recovered a shotgun, law-enforcement sources said.

Cops are not sure of the motive in Sunday’s attack, which occurred on West 129th Street in the Saint Nicholas Houses at 5 p.m.

Akeem Green, 25, was fatally shot in the back. His fiancee said he had aspirations to join the Marine Corps.

“He definitely always wanted to be a Marine. …That was just his passion,” said Asheena Moore, 25, Green’s fiancee and the mother of his 2-month-old baby boy.

“This was not gang-related,” Moore said. “It was just a pickup game of ball with his cousins and friends, and he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

The victim had three prior arrests, two of which were sealed and the third, from 2003, for assault, authorities said.

The other three victims were treated for their injuries at Harlem Hospital, cops said.
