Keller’s looking for new Jets deal

As the Jets begin mini-camp today, another one of their players is hoping to land a long-term contract soon.

Tight end Dustin Keller, who is entering the final year of his contract, told reporters last night he would like to stay a Jet “for a long time,” but the team has not been responsive.

“We’ve tried to approach them, but it really hasn’t moved too much,” Keller said at his charity bowling event at Chelsea Piers.

Keller is scheduled to make $3 million this season. He indicated he would not hold out even if he does not have a new deal.

The Jets have worked out deals with some of their young stars in recent years. D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold, David Harris and Mark Sanchez have gotten extensions before their contracts were up.

Keller said it is “a little frustrating” that nothing is getting done. The 27-year-old led the team in receptions (65) and receiving yards (815) last year.

“Obviously, I’d like to be one of those core guys . . . that’s going to help them win,” said Keller. “I feel I am, but still you want to get that contract done. That pretty much makes it official.”
