Flower power for Mets

The grass should look even greener now at Citi Field.

Queens native and 1-800-Flowers.com founder Jim McCann has struck a $20 million deal to buy a minority stake in the cash-strapped Mets.

“I felt it was a reasonable investment, but growing up a lifelong Mets fan, this was more about being able to do something fun and interesting for me and my family,” said McCann, who confirmed his 4 percent piece of the Amazin’s yesterday.

By becoming a minority owner, McCann will get such perks as prime seating, his own CitiField parking spot and the ability to mingle with players — and even Mr. Met.

He says he’s confident the team is moving in the right direction, despite the weekend’s Subway Series sweep at the hands of the hated Yankees.

“A lot of the financial issues are being resolved, and [team brass] has done a great job of putting together some great home-grown talent,” he added.

McCann’s investment follows news earlier this month that HBO comedian Bill Maher had also bought a share in the team.

Last September, Fred Wilpon announced he was selling off 12 sets of shares — worth 4 percent each — at $20 million a pop. By March, the team had confirmed agreements to raise $240 million through the sales.
