Rhimes blasts ‘Bunheads’ lack of diversity

“Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes has spanked ABC Family’s new dance-school series, “Bunheads,” for its lack of diversity.

“Hey @abcfbunheads: really? You couldn’t cast even ONE young dancer of color so I could feel good about my kid watching this show?” Rhimes, who’s African-American, tweeted.

“NOT ONE?”

“Bunheads,” created by Amy Sherman-Palladino (“Gilmore Girls”), premiered Monday night on ABC Family.

It revolves around an ex-ballerina-turned-Vegas showgirl (Sutton Foster) who becomes a teacher at her mother-in-law’s dance school, located in a quiet coastal town.

“I def don’t feel bad when my kid watches white performers,” Rhimes tweeted in a follow-up. “Not at all what I’m saying.

“Am a huge Gilmore Girls fan. Just pointing out one issue.”

Rhimes’ three ABC shows — including “Scandal” and “Private Practice” — feature ethnically diverse casts.

ABC Family officials had no comment.
