She can’t be Syria-ous! Walters’ warped view

The Issue: Barbara Walters’ string-pulling for Sheherazad Jaafari, an aide to Syria’s president.

I could write a lot of things about Barbara Walters, but Andrea Peyser captures everything I feel and more, especially about Walters’ dealings with Sheherazad Jaafari (“Give Babs the Boot!” June 11).

It’s about time people like Walters are held accountable.

Keep up the good work, Peyser.

As far as I can tell, Walters didn’t do anything wrong. This is how things are done in any industry.

As for the American psyche being easily manipulated, there’s no better example than the Gulf states that are funding insurrection or the al Qaeda members you call the Syrian opposition.

This all seems part of an ill-advised and undeclared war against Iran that Americans should not be supporting.

As always, Peyser’s comments are right on the button.

I wish Walters would just retire — hang up her “micwophone” and stop “bwagging” about making people “cwy.”

More so than ever, Walters is irrelevant.

Thanks, Andrea, for your write-ups and insights.

While women and children in Syria are getting their throats cut, Walters is trying to get Jaafari a lucrative job and high-powered social connections.

Jaafari said it best: The American psyche can be easily manipulated, and Walters proves it.

This is what Walters could be remembered for — and all for a possible second interview.

It doesn’t get more debased.

This just proves what we have always known — Walters is as tough as nails and is always willing to do anything for anyone to advance her career.

Next time, I hope she thinks twice about her legacy as an American journalist. She should have this country’s best interest at heart.
