Party bus bloodshed: 19 revelers cuffed in South Street Seaport violence

It was party bus that soon resembled a corrections bus.

A group of 19 Long Islanders celebrating their high-school graduation on a party bus were taken into custody this morning after one of them allegedly shot a 20-year-old man in the arm while the vehicle was parked at the South Street Seaport, police said.

The incident occurred around 2:17 a.m., shortly after an argument broke out in front of Pier 17 between 30 to 35 people, including the 19 who were on the bus.

The victim, identified by sources as Joel Ochoa of Brooklyn, was taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition. He was from another group hanging out at the tourist hot spot.

The shooter re-entered the bus after firing his weapon and left the gun on a back seat, police said. After cops recovered the gun, none of the 19 on board confessed to being the shooter, so police took them all into custody, where they potentially faced weapons-possession charges.

But police later narrowed down the shooter to a 17-year-old from Hempstead. Charges are still pending.
