Shooting at South St. Seaport

A girl who was part of a group of Long Island teens at the South Street Seaport yesterday to celebrate their high-school graduation was arrested after a man was shot during a dispute on the street, police said.

The incident occurred at 2:17 a.m. in front of Pier 17, and involved 30 to 35 people, including 19 who had been on a rented bus.

The victim, identified by sources as Joel Ochoa of Brooklyn, had been with another group. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The shooter re-entered the bus after wounding Ochoa, left a .22-caliber gun on a seat, and fled before cops arrived, police said.

When none of the teens on board confessed to the shooting, police took them all into custody. They were later released, except for the girl, who, for some reason, allegedly had the weapon in her possession.

Kadijah Robinson, 17, of Hempstead was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, but cops don’t believe she was the shooter, who remained at large.
