‘Peer pressure’ on drown teen

The Queens teen who drowned off Far Rockaway skipped school and went to the beach because he was peer-pressured to impress a group of girls — even though he couldn’t swim, friends and relatives said yesterday.

Akeem Craig, 14, hesitated Tuesday when invited to cut the last day of class at August Martin HS in Jamaica and head to the beach.

“I told him he was cutting school for no reason — it’s raining,” said friend Nicholas Thompson, 15. “I know he felt pressured by girls. Girls got boys’ heads.”

Craig drowned despite pal Akeem Brown’s desperate rescue attempt.
