New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says it’s not always easy to spot a prostitute.
The subject came up during Bloomberg’s weekly radio show Friday when WOR host John Gambling asked him about an anti-sex-trafficking bill passed by the City Council.
The bill is intended to stop cabbies from knowingly driving prostitutes to meet their johns. Drivers would be enlisted to help steer prostitutes away from illegal activities instead.
But who’s a hooker?
Bloomberg said that if he were “a young lady” dressed “in a sporty way” he would not want anyone to think he was a prostitute.
Bloomberg said such attire might not be appropriate for the workplace “but at night, sometimes, sure.”
The mayor said he did not know if the sex-trafficking legislation was a good idea.
