Wanted: A new AG not wanted: Eric Holder

The Issue: Mounting pressure for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign or be replaced.

***

Thanks to Michael A. Walsh for writing what many people have suspected: that the Fast and Furious operation was a partisan political gimmick (“Holder’s Last Days?” PostScript, June 14).

The current administration deliberately set up its own citizens and allowed an American peace officer to be killed in order to pursue an ideological agenda.

This scandal makes President Nixon and his plumbers look like a couple of kids playing potsy on the sidewalk.

Where is the media’s outrage?

Attorney General Eric Holder proves yet again the differences between Democrats and Republicans.

Holder refuses to resign, and Congress has yet to hold him in contempt. What a sham.

If Holder were a Republican, he would have resigned a long time ago. If not, the president would have fired him or Congress would have had him publicly tarred and feathered.

Democrats get away with anything, while Republicans are raked over the coals.

Do as I say, not as I do. The national motto by which every Democrat lives.

Holder needs to resign immediately. The record shows that he is a political hack and an Obama puppet who is not qualified to handle the legal interests of the United States.

Holder has repeatedly refused to cooperate with Congress on the investigation of the botched gun-running program “Fast and Furious,” in which one of the weapons was used to kill Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Now, after all of his anti-American tactics, Hol-der wants to cut a deal in order to prevent a contempt of Congress charge. As a Post headline aptly put it, “Face it, you’re screwed” (June 13).

With friends like Holder, America doesn’t need enemies.

Somebody, please end this fascination with Holder and give us an attorney general we can trust.
