Alleged boyfriend-stabbing blonde offers bizarre ‘confession’

He stabbed himself in the chest! As I held the knife!

That’s the remarkable “confession” of the gorgeous young blonde accused of plunging a knife into the chest of her boyfriend in their Gold Street apartment last month.

“I grabbed a butter knife and told him not to touch me!” Latvian lovely Yekatrina Pusepa, told authorities in a police statement released today, as she pleaded not guilty today to attempted murder.

The Latvian lovely was standing in cuffs outside the apartment — her shirt covered in blood — as she spoke to cops.

Meanwhile, the boyfriend, Alec Katsnelson, 22, was being rushed to the hospital with stab wounds to the chest.

Just two months prior to their bloody fight, Katsnelson had been charged with misdemeanor assault, allegedly again at the 33 Gold St. property, for an alleged coke-fueled fight in which he pushed her down a flight of stairs.

Coincidentally, Katsnelson had a court appearance on that alleged assault today just seven floors below where Pusepa was arraigned.

Pusepa’s lawyer, Kevin O’Connell, is hinting that he may pursue a self-defense strategy based on what he called today the couple’s “volatile relationship.”

“I scratched his face to defend himself,” Pusepa told cops of that earlier fight, according to court documents.

Next time, the boyfriend got more than a scratch.

“I told him to get away from me. Then he started screaming that he hates me and wants to end his life,” she claimed of Alec Katz

“The guy is suicidal. Then he grabbed my hand with the knife in it and stabbed himself in the chest and fell to the floor. It all happened so fast,” the statements allege she told cops.

Pusepa, who appeared in court in a clean white T-shirt, her hair in a ponytail, remains jailed in lieu of a $125,000 bail bond. She’s back in court August 1.
