Girls just wanna have fun!
Two cross-dressing credit card thieves were busted on Staten Island after they went on a shopping spree – at women’s clothing stores, authorities said.
Eric Riley, 22, wearing cowboy boots, a black halter top, tight denim shorts and a “Barbie” nameplate necklace, and David Jackson, 24, sporting a tan dress and sandals, were nabbed Saturday after swiping a credit card from a woman in TJ Maxx at the Hylan Commons shopping plaza in New Dorp, cops said.
The victim, who sources say mistook the 6-foot Riley for a “tall woman,” described his outlandish get-up to responding officers and cops later nabbed him, Jackson and accomplice John Brown, 47, driving in a Hyundai Elantra near Hylan Boulevard and Burbank Avenue.
Riley – who advertises escort services online under the name “Tiffany Long Hard” – and Jackson were also wearing wigs, sources said. Brown was not dressed in drag, sources added.
One boosted credit card was found in Jackson’s purse, and two others were in plain view in the car – one in a cupholder and the second on the floor by the back seat, sources added.
Riley and Jackson had allegedly used the pilfered plastic swipes to purchase merchandise from NY&Co. and Annie Sez, court records state.
Riley also splurged on goods at DSW shoe store on Richmond Avenue in New Springville, cops added.
And, Jackson allegedly bought an iPod and two gift cads from Toys R Us in New Dorp, as well as gift cards from ShopRite.
All three were slapped with possession of stolen property, while Jackson and Riley were also hit with petit larceny charges, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
