Chelsea on board at IAC

IAC/InterActiveCorp. said Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former US President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has joined its board.

Clinton, 31, previously worked at McKinsey & Co. and Avenue Capital, New York-based IAC said. She is now pursuing a doctorate at Oxford University, and working with the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative, IAC said.

Clinton also serves on the boards of the Clinton Foundation, the School of American Ballet, Common Sense Media and the Weill Cornell Medical College, according to the filing.

“Her skills and background complement the existing areas of expertise of other board members,” said Justine Sacco, an IAC spokeswoman.

The company also named Sonali De Rycker of the venture capital firm Accel Partners to its board. De Rycker, 38, is based in London and focuses on Internet and software investments, its regulatory filing said.

IAC, which operates the dating Web site Match.com as well as Newsweek Daily Beast, rose 17 cents to $40.49 in Nasdaq trading yesterday.
