MTA lists more stations to get cell treatment

Phase two of Operation Underground annoyance was unveiled tonight when the MTA identified the next 31 subway platforms that will be wired for cellphone service.

They include 57th Street/Seventh Avenue, 47-50th Streets Rockefeller Center; as well as the West 72nd Street stations on Broadway and Central Park West.

All of the stations — which will be ready for yapping loudly within the next 12 months — are in Manhattan.

The first six platforms to get wi-fi service were wired earlier this week.

Straphangers can also get Internet access at the wired stations’ platforms, but there are no plans to wire the tunnels.
