Girls volleyball roundup: Ganun leads Fontbonne past Mary Louis

Lauren Ganun might have not have won NYPost.com’s best hitter poll, but she was certainly the best on the court Tuesday.

The senior middle/outside had 18 kills and seven blocks to lead Fontbonne Hall to a 24-26, 27-25, 25-13, 25-7 win over Mary Louis in CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens at Aviator Sports Complex. Ganun finished third in the poll behind Brearley’s Catherine Egan and St. Francis Prep’s Talia Colasante.

Katie Lang had 41 assists and three aces, Kristen Sullivan had 15 kills and Victoria Starace had five kills and five digs to lead Fontbonne (4-2). Siobhan Sammon had six kills and Mary Kate Nestor added five digs and three aces. Mary Louis is 3-3.

St. Joseph Hill 3, St. Joseph by the Sea 0: Kelsey Carey had six kills and Tiffany Intravaia had 25 assists and 19 service points to lead Hill (5-0) to a 25-13, 25-7, 25-12 win in CHSAA Staten Island. Christine Intravaia had 10 digs and Meaghen Frawley had five digs. Sea is 2-2.

Brearley 3, Friends 0: Funmi Adejobi had 19 assists, Catherine Egan had five kills and three blocks and Cassey Carrey had eight aces to lead Brearley (5-0) to a 25-12, 25-17, 25-10 win in AAIS. The Beavers host rival Chapin on Wednesday.

Horace Mann 3, Riverdale 0: Olivia Rodriguez had six kills and Isa Moise had four aces to lead Horace Mann (3-2). Riverdale is 1-2.
