Ostroff heading to Condé

Dawn Ostroff, the former entertainment head of The CW network, is in talks to join publishing house Condé Nast in a new role, The Post has learned.

Sources said Ostroff will help further Condé Nast’s initiatives in television and online video.

Condé Nast, whose magazine stable includes Vanity Fair and Vogue, creates Web video for events such as its fashion shoots and Oscar parties. The talks with Ostroff suggest it harbors bigger ambitions in the video realm.

Condé Nast wouldn’t be the first publishing house to draft TV talent. Hearst tapped former NBC boss Scott Sassa to run its TV interests, spanning ESPN and the A&E TV Networks, and its new joint venture with reality show producer Mark Burnett.

Ostroff is a known quantity in the fashion world, having spearheaded shows with strong ties to the industry, including “Gossip Girl” and “America’s Next Top Model.”

She quit as entertainment president at The CW in June to move to New York and be with her husband.

While Ostroff’s background is in television, she started her career in journalism and worked at a local TV station.

Ostroff ran The CW from 2006 to 2011 and was previously entertainment chief of predecessor UPN. She was also an executive vice president at Lifetime.

Ostroff didn’t return requests for comment. Condé Nast didn’t response to a request for comment.
