Oprah top-ranked TV personality on Forbes’ ‘Most Powerful Women’ list

Oprah Winfrey was the top-ranked TV personality in Forbes’ “World’s Most Powerful Women” list.

A total of 10 women working in the TV industry made the list, compiled annually.

The former “Oprah” host, who’s now steering her struggling OWN cable network, was ranked 14th, between two government officials — Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano.

ABC/Disne chief Anne Sweeney followed Winfrey at number 25, followed by two news commentators –Sarah Palin (Fox News Channel, number 34) and “This Week” host Christiane Amanpour, (number 44).

Amanpour’s ABC colleague, “World News” anchor Diane Sawyer, finished at number 47, followed by NBC chairwoman Bonnie Hammer at number 54.

Daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (“Ellen”) clocked in at number 55, with “Today” show co-anchor Ann Curry finishing at number 66 — just behind World Bank managing director Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Palin’s FNC colleague, “On the Record” host Greta Van Susteren, finished number 75 on the list.

Mindy Grossman, the CEO of Home Shopping Network, was the final TV-related personality on the list, finishing at 89.
