SIRTE, Libya — Moammar Khadafy’s son had one last cigarette and a sip of water before he died.
That according to a newly-released video of Mutassim Khadafy after he was reportedly captured the same day his father was killed.
The 34-year-old Mutassim, who served as his dad’s security adviser, was pictured alive and lying on a sofa, looking disheveled and wearing a blood-soaked shirt.
He looked relatively calm in the footage that was released today — casually puffing on a cigarette and taking a swig of water as if he didn’t have a care in the world, according to ABC News.
He did not appear to be seriously injured.
But other images of Mutassim taken moments later show him lying dead on a stretcher after having ben shot in the neck and abdomen.
In one of the videos, people can be heard screaming and shouting in the background during what turned out to be his final moments of life.
An official in Misrata told London’s Daily Mail that Mutassim was shot and killed.

The videos come as the UN’s High Commission for Human Rights called for a probe into the death of Moammar Khadafy, who like his son, also appeared alive while in custody in a series of videos just before he died.
The events surrounding Mutassim’s death remain a mystery.
Mutassim, who is Khadafy’s fifth son, was captured alongside his father after they were discovered cowering in a large sewage pipe in the dictator’s hometown of Sirte.
