15-year-old charged in sex attacks

A 15-year-old Queens boy was busted yesterday for attempted rape, sex abuse and assault for two attacks on women in the Laurelton section, cops said.

Nashane Peterkin was charged as an adult in the assaults, which are part of a series of five sex attacks that have terrorized women in eastern Queens since Sept. 22.

The Springfield Gardens resident, who was taken into custody Sunday, was picked out of two lineups and confessed, according to court papers and sources.

The Queens DA’s Office — without identifying Peterkin by name — said he was being prosecuted for an Oct. 9 attack and for the most recent assault on Oct. 16.

In each case, prosecutors claim, Peterkin brutally and repeatedly punched his victims in the head.

Despite his being charged as an adult, he could be sentenced as a juvenile and face a prison sentence of only 2 1/2 to eight years, according to the sources.

Sources said Peterkin may be charged with a third attack, which would be prosecuted in Family Court.

He was arraigned last night in Queens Criminal Court, where he was held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Kevin Colein, 18, a pal of the suspect, questioned the charges, saying, “He gets . . . girls. Why would he go after a random lady?

Meanwhile, cops are looking for another groper in Queens, where a Hispanic male on a black mountain bike has fondled six women from Sept. 15 to Oct. 7. in Sunnyside and Woodside.
