Doc: Pain meds killed Jacko

Los Angeles Michael Jackson’s addiction to painkillers set off a domino effect of ailments that led to his overmedicated demise, a defense expert testified yesterday.

Lawyers for MJ’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who is on trial for involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death, are desperately trying to pin any semblance of a crime on Jackson’s dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein.

Defense expert Dr. Robert Waldman yesterday said records show Klein gave Jackson too much of the painkiller Demerol in the months before his death.

The defense wants jurors to believe that Jackson’s alleged painful withdrawal from Demerol could explain why Murray prescribed him the powerful anesthetic propofol and sedative lorazepam, the drug cocktail that killed him.
