A good Samaritan plunged into the Hudson River this afternoon to help a 15-year-old girl who jumped into the water near the USS Intrepid, cops said.
The brave, 53-year-old passer-by saw the teen hop into the Hudson near Pier 84 at 2:40 p.m. and immediately leapt in after her, onlookers said. Rescue crews later found both of them sitting on top of a piling under the pier, cops said.
An FDNY boat ferried the girl to shore, and she was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Cops are still investigating why she ended up in the water.
Her unidentified rescuer safely climbed up a ladder to 46th Street and did not sustain any injuries.
