Crystal clear for Oscars

He could do this in his sleep!

Billy Crystal will host the troubled Oscar telecast this year, making it his 10th go-round as the emcee of Hollywood’s biggest night.

“Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions,” the comedian tweeted yesterday. “Looking forward to the show.”

Crystal, 63, who last had the job in 2004, takes over after Eddie Murphy quit on Wednesday. Murphy’s pal, former Oscar producer Brett Ratner, resigned under fire Tuesday for saying “Rehearsal’s for fags” at a press junket for his new film, “Tower Heist.”

Movie maven Brian Grazer is taking over as producer. “It’s the best job in the world, it’s a hard job,” he told “Access Hollywood.”

“You really want someone who’s almost looking at it as a sort of civil servant, where they’re feeling like, ‘We’re thrilled to be here, dying to do it, waking up early, I’m thinking about it all night.’ ”
