Maybe it was career day.
Parents at a Los Angeles-area elementary school are complaining after porn star Sasha Grey was invited to read to a classroom of their children, according to a new report.
“Spent the am with Read Across America Compton, reading to the sweetest 1st & 3rd grade students @ Emerson Elementary!” Grey tweeted on Nov. 2.
According to TMZ, Grey said she was invited to the Compton, Calif., school as part of the “Read Across America” program because she has moved into mainstream acting since her regular supporting role on HBO’s “Entourage” as the girlfriend of Adrian Grenier’s character Vince Chase.
But her extensive body of work as a porn star has earned her highest accolades, including AVN Adult Movie Awards for “Best Three Way Sex Scene,” “Best Group Scene” and “Female Performer of the Year.”
TMZ reported that the principal was contacted after some angry parents complained to the local parent-teacher association about their children’s surprise visitor.
A representative for the school district has since denied that Grey was at the school.
“We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated was not present,” the representative told TMZ.
TMZ, however, published a series of photos that appear to contradict that claim, showing an animated Grey reading to a group of young children in a school classroom.
