Ozzy Osbourne launches his own rock music channel on SiriusXM

LOS ANGELES — Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne is getting his very own music channel on SiriusXM Radio, it was announced Monday.

The self-proclaimed “Prince of Darkness” launched Ozzy’s Boneyard, a 24/7 channel that will play classic metal and hard rock tunes.

Osbourne will share anecdotes from his wild past and introduce the music, while other members of the foul-mouthed family made famous by the MTV show “The Osbournes” — his wife Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack — will help out.

“After everything I’ve been through in my career, I never imagined I’d end up with my own radio channel on SiriusXM. This is f*ck*ng amazing! Does this mean I can play whatever I want?” he said.

The news followed the announcement that Black Sabbath, the heavy metal group fronted by Osbourne, was reforming in its original lineup for a new album and world tour next year.

Guitarist Tommy Iommi, bass player Geezer Butler, drummer Bill Ward and Osbourne first got together in 1969.

Osbourne was the lead singer until 1979, when he was fired from the group. Former Rainbow vocalist Ronnie James Dio replaced him until 1982. Osbourne then rejoined in 1997, when Black Sabbath took part in his Ozzfest touring festival.
