The John Liu saga: totally out of ‘comp’-trol

The Issue: John Liu’s plan to run for mayor despite questions about his character and ethics.

***

You once again predict that City Comptroller John Liu will never be elected mayor of New York City (“John Liu’s Transgressions,” Editorial, Nov. 21).

That’s probably true. But I’d never underestimate the ability of New York City voters to make a stupid decision.

It’s a good thing Liu is a Democrat. If he weren’t, he’d never be able to get away with what he did and still stay in the race for mayor.

A Republican would not only have had to drop out of the race, but also would have had to resign.

But not Liu.

This is nothing new for the Democrats, who have shown many times that they have no morals or ethics.

All they care about is one thing: power.

They don’t care what they have to do to get it or keep it.

Liu says he’s still running for mayor.

Of course he is.

New York, along with our do-nothing traveling salesman of a president, is a prime example of how we reward failure while punishing the hard-working and honest people in this country.
